Trip to Pai

The 762 turns from Chiang Mai to Pai

Not long ago, Pai was a small, sleepy mountain village in northern Thailand. Pai has since grown into one of the backpacker hotspots in Southeast Asia. Travelers from all over the world visit the village to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and the green valley for a few days (or weeks). But to get to Pai, you first have to travel the infamous 762 turns from Chiang Mai to Pai. And today we tell you exactly what to expect from that road!

We have traveled the way from Chiang Mai to Pai perhaps twenty times. Several times by scooter, swinging back and forth several times in a minibus, twice as a passenger in a taxi and even once with a rental car.

And one thing is for sure, the 762 turns to Pai are never boring. The 130 kilometer route winds its way through and over the green mountain peaks of Northern Thailand.

It doesn't matter which mode of transport you take - it will be a great adventure anyway!

We used all kinds of different transportation
